Step 1: Determine the Ceiling Height:
Mark the ceiling level using a water level hose or laser level.
Indicate the position of the ceiling plane on the walls or columns.
It is recommended to mark the height reference at the bottom edge of the gypsum ceiling frame.
Step 2: Fix the Wall Angles (Perimeter Track):
Depending on the wall type, use a drill or hammer with steel nails to secure the wall angles to the surrounding walls or partitions.
The spacing between fixing points (nails or anchors) varies with wall material but must not exceed 300mm.
Step 3–4: Ceiling Layout and Grid Division:
Ensure the ceiling panels and the outer frame are evenly balanced.
Lay out the ceiling grid properly — the spacing between the centers of main and cross tees should be 610×610mm or 610×1220mm, depending on the panel size.
Step 5: Hanger Installation:
The maximum spacing between hangers is 1200–1220mm.
The distance from the wall to the first hanger should be 610mm.
Drill the hanger anchors directly into the reinforced concrete slab using an 8mm drill bit, and secure them with brackets and expansion bolts.
Step 6: Connecting Hangers and Main Tee (Longitudinal Member) – ProMETAL T3660:
Connect the hangers to the main tee through cross-connection holes at both ends of the main tee.
The spacing between hanger points along the main tee should be 800–1200mm.
Step 7: Cross Tee – ProMETAL T1200:
Install the cross tees into the locking slots of the main tee.
Ensure the spacing between cross tees is 610mm.
Step 8: Cross Tee – ProMETAL T610:
Install the ProMETAL T610 tees into the locking slots of the T1200 tees. The connection clips must ensure the designed spacing of 610mm.
Step 9: Adjustment:
After installation, adjust the ceiling frame to ensure it is level and properly aligned.
Check the ceiling height and flatness using a cross string method, laser level, or measuring tools to ensure conformity with design specifications.
Step 10: Installing Ceiling Panels:
Use ceiling panels with the following dimensions:
- 605×605mm for 610×610mm grid systems
- 595×595mm for 600×600mm grid systems
- 605×1210mm for 610×1220mm grid systems
- 595×1190mm for 600×1200mm grid systems
Place the ceiling panels evenly within the installed grid system, ensuring they sit flat and level.
Step 11: Edge Treatment:
Cutting method:
- For ceiling borders: use shears or metal cutters.
- For ceiling panels: score the surface using a fine-tooth saw or utility knife, snap along the scored line, and trim off the remaining paper layer with a cutter.
Step 12: Cleaning, Inspection, and Handover:
Clean and inspect the installation thoroughly.
After adjusting the frame to the correct height, alignment, and square level, place the panels evenly.
Ensure the ceiling surface and grid are clean and stable before handing over the completed gypsum ceiling system.
